Are you going to Shmoocon?
I just got my tickets and registered. It's going to be a great show. I went to the first Shmoocon last year and saw great talks, hung out with cool people, and drank a perfectly appropriate amount of beer.
This year is shaping up to be just as interesting. The final speaker list came out on Sunday. Dan Geer and Jennifer Granick are the keynote speakers.
I'm especially looking forward to seeing Elonka Dunin speak on Kryptos. Elonka led the team that cracked the Cyrillic Projector in 2003, which undoubtedly qualifies her as a ninja.
Adrian Marinescu (dev lead on the Windows Kernel team at Microsoft) is going to talk about the heap management changes in Windows Vista. These are significant. If you write heap exploits for the Windows platform this is going to be very relevant to you. If you're concerned about heap exploits for the Windows platform this is going to be very relevant to you. That pretty much means if you're running Windows or managing an environment that is, you should go to this talk.
Dan Kaminsky is delivering an updated version of Black Ops Of TCP/IP, which is always fun. Fyodor will tell us how to "teach nmap new tricks." The speaker list is made up of names you recognize and those you won't, but looks to be relevant, technical, and interesting either way.
